A Treasure Box of Memories

Long after I have gone there will be in a treasure box,for those left behind
and in that box will be
A collection of a life past
A life enjoyed
A life treasured
A life varied in its creativity,
its growth,its wonder,and its thankfullness,
It will allow those who find this treasure box
an insight into how and why they are loved.
It will be a special day to share with others
The life I lived and the life I celebrated.
I will not bury my treasure box too deep
I want it to be found and rejoiced of my being here
I want a celebration of the life I loved and lived.
And for you to be happy that I was here, and that is all that matters.

I and Mnemosyne permit you to surround yourself
with the memories of me and be gladdened that we knew one another
and that is a blessing for us all.

Hello Lois,

I love the whole idea of this poem. What a wonderful thing if each of us could leave a treasure box for our friends and families to tell them how much we enjoyed life and how we loved them. Beautiful!
